In December, the Government of Greenland granted a 30-year exploitation permit for graphite at the Amitsoq graphite deposit in South Greenland to Greenland Graphite A/S which forms part of the GreenRoc group.
The licence allows the mining company to exploit graphite, which is used, among other things, in the manufacture of batteries for use in the green transition. No later than 31 December 2028, Greenland Graphite A/S shall have prepared a Mining and Closure Plan, and exploitation of minerals shall be commenced not later than 31 December 2030.
This is the third mineral exploitation licence granted this year.
We congratulate Greenland Graphite A/S and look forward to following the company’s continued development of the project.
